In addition to this, there is also a big focus on bio-stimulants and the development of new, very effective products that can be implemented to achieve specific responses in the plant. Due to the intensity of crop production and the pressure on rotation systems and therefore the development of soil-borne disease challenges, root-health and root conditioning is also very important to ensure effective uptake of water and nutrients and have a direct impact on overall plant health. Everything starts in the soil and by focusing on long-term soil enhancing practices, it can have a very positive impact on sustainability for current and future generations. All of these aspects can have an impact on food security and therefor the responsibility lies with us to put action in place and give good, scientifically based technical solutions.
The InteliBio Solutions Approach focusses on all four the key aspects as mentioned above:
Bio-Control:Integrates different biological control agents as part of an IPM strategy and is also used to produces low-no residue and pesticide free crops.
The products in this range consist of specific viruses, micro-organisms, macro-organisms, plant extracts, mass trapping techniques, and also mating disruption that have no negative impact on the environment, safe for use by growers and have no residues on the crop produces, therefore very safe for the end-user.
Bio-Stimulants:The bio-stimulant products that forms part of this category focusses on plant stress, plant growth, and yield. Amino acids, kelp-based products and PGPR`s forms the basis of te bio-stimulant range of products.
Bio-Inoculants:With the focus on root health and root conditioning to help ensure better water and nutrient uptake, the range of products consist primarily of specific micro-organisms that form a symbiotic relationship with the plant roots. This is a very exiting area and forms a close relationship with the plant nutritional approach on the crops and are incorporated also as part of the plant nutritional approach to ensure that the chemical fertiliser inputs are managed responsibly and to help minimise the impact of nitrogen leaching.
The Controlled release technology from Haifa, also fits in well in this approach as there is very little leaching taking place and the environment around the CRF granular is favourable for micro-organisms to grow.
Bio-Mass:This is a long-term approach and include soil rectifying principles (measurements, advice and recommendations) and then incorporating certain strategies for example cover crops, green manure, brown manure and management practices, to help enhance the soil health over time.
InteliGro works closely with other experts in the field to assist our clients with the right strategy and also monitor the success of these actions that are implemented.
